The Interscada
system was designed for the purpose of allowing
companies to do more with less when it comes to asset
management. Careful thought and planning was conducted
to offer a system that would allow customers to justify
the cost of an Interscada system. Most importantly we
listened to the wants and needs of our customers to
include features that will allow you to go to management
with clear and concise cost saving measures.

A
more holistic approach.
With
8 spectral, 16 analog, and 4 digital inputs from one DAQ,
Interscada enables users to broaden the scope beyond
vibration and monitor system interaction conditions such
as pressures, flows, and temperatures.
Detecting compromising process conditions that cause
vibration allows personnel to correct these conditions
before secondary failure occurs, leading to a
preventative maintenance regime.

Changes in industry leading to the
downsizing of cost centers like maintenance is causing
more companies to attempt to do more with less. The
latest trend is to integrate more machine condition data
with process data, and delivering it to plant Human
Machine Interface (HMI) systems like Wonderware or
Intellution. This enables operators to become more
involved and take ownership in asset management.
Operators can now see how process conditions lead to
asset performance, thus getting a more holistic view of
asset management.
Interscada delivers 8 channels of vibration or acoustic
spectral data, 16 channels of analog 4-20ma inputs, 4
digital inputs, as well as 4 digital and 4 analog
outputs. The data is transmitted continuously or in
time intervals over plant Ethernets or over a license
free, wireless radio network provided by Interscada.
Immediate savings are realized by removing data
collectors from a route and by eliminating the cost of
wire. The data is delivered to an HMI, either provided
by Interscada, or output to an OPC server so that plants
can pull data into their existing HMI.

The
latest techniques that enable preventative maintenance
have been integrated into the Interscada system.
Monitoring lubrication effectiveness through acoustics
and condensation monitors is available through special
sensors. But Interscada goes beyond simple data
collection tasks. It is also an analyzer. Most process
data must be factored into formulas to determine asset
hydraulic condition data. Interscada provides up to 8
calculations per DAQ, including the ability to load
asset performance curves and monitor points such as pump
net positive suction head NPSH, and best efficiency
points BEP. This feature also allows customers to
replace expensive meters, such as flowmeters, with power
monitors. Flow is referenced from the performance curve
in a linear relationship with true power. |
